2025 SME Board of Directors The SME Board of Directors is elected by the entire voting membership of SME. It is made up of industry and academic leaders whose diverse backgrounds represent years of experience from a wide array of manufacturing disciplines. Acting as the governing body of SME, it has the power to establish business policy for SME, order and conduct professional meetings, and guide its member units. The Board has absolute budget authority and complete responsibility for SME's property.
History of SME SME was created as a membership organization, but has grown beyond that to serve the manufacturing industry even more broadly with events, workforce development and media products.
